We finally warmed up down here from the winter storm mess, so I took the opportunity and started on Sam's to-do list. I got the new front undertray on, and started the new shift knob install. I say started because this knob is illuminated and in trying to run wires down to the shifter, I discovered my radio keys are nowhere to be found so that I could pull the screen. I got some weed eater line and got that halfway pulled through, the tricky part will be getting it up and behind the radio and into the center vent area so that I can tap power and splice in (I have an aftermarket battery voltage gauge already wired in). It got dark on me so this week I hope to finish. Kind of thinking while I have it open and accessible that I should get on Diesel Geeks site and complete my order.

The old undertray as you can see was completely demolished, it also tore the car-side spot where one of the driver side screws goes. I guess I will have to order that and swap it later on.

This is my stopping point on the new shift knob, I did try for like half an hour to get the weed eater line fished up in there. With the radio in the way it is quite difficult though. I guess I have to order some radio keys.

Do you have any other pics you can post of that Maxton designs club sport spoiler? They are looking like a great deal but I cant seem to find any good pictures of them online.

Radio keys came in and got the screen out. I did try for a while to get the stuck keys out of the brain unit but no luck yet. Those things are really in there and I am at this point where I don't want to stick it back in there with the keys still in there, I want them OUT. I am trying to use the new keys as helpers, but so far after an hour of trying, they remain stuck in there. I ran out of time with the shift knob but I have wires for the knob illumination pretty much ready for splicing in. Now the other problem is ever since I added the vent mounted battery gauge, the radio screen bezel has never sat flush, and this leaves the vent directional knobs not functional. I would just pull the gauge and stick the oem vent back in, but I can't find it. So now I am at this point where I said elsewhere I am looking at those cool multi-gauge units from VadPro and Vektor. I can't decide which one, but I am leaning towards the Vektor. I really don't want to put the car back together until I have one or the other. I also have a car meet this Sunday, so I am going to have to choose one and overnight it for that, and also get my red shift boot swapped over to the new knob. I hear a Friday PTO day coming so that I can get shit done..ughh.

If I could only count the amount of things in my life that get prioritized based off something about my car.......

I think I am going to switch gears and look at a P3 gauge, it has everything I want, just trying to decide what options are a must. With the volt gauge in the center vent that does not allow the bezel to sit flush, I think I am going to try my dremel skills and trim the aftermarket vent pod the gauge sits in down about 2mm or so. I like that gauge and I don't really want to part with. It is hard to read in the daytime but maybe if I fix it to where it sits more flush, then I can look at other gauge options that are more readable in the daytime. With the P3 gauge I will need a boost tap solution. My digital sending unit from the prosport gauge is still there, just disconnected as well as the boost tap that was giving me false ambient temp readings. With the P3, I read that I will need to convert it to an analog setup. Boost tubing is still all ran, just disconnected.

I still love my analog boost gauge on the column….42nd draft design…. Nothing fancy and I peg it out but looks cool lol

Still deciding on the P3 gauge options, but went ahead and ordered a Defi volt gauge to replace the no see it in the daylight ProSport gauge. Maybe I will be able to see this one uggh. I got the white face version so it matches the instrument cluster.

Well right after I ordered that gauge I get an email from the vendor saying that it is discontinued and no longer available. Trying to source the newer version of that gauge today. With the P3 gauge, all the options I am looking for with boost, ethanol and what not, the total is about $700 bucks. It's a clean look so I am trying to decide if I want to cycle through the info I want to see and constantly tapping the button to display different data, or just get the Vektor that I can customize and have everything displayed at a quick glance. If I get the Vektor I would move the new battery gauge over to the driver vent where my old boost gauge was, and of course the Vektor would be in the center vent. Decisions, decisions.

that's some crazy info to display! what about cjm dual boost pod gauge that goes in your far left dash vent? Combine that with column gauges

Oh heck I bet I have looked at that thing 100 times. It would put the gauges where I need them and return me to OEM vents, which is good for hot Texas days/more AC flow. Column gauges is kinda meh with me. This is cheaper which is good because I just requested a quote for something stupid expensive.
ok- I need a OEM center vent, and the driver side vent showed up the the other day. I guess today it's get volt and boost gauges, and that CJM pod ordered.

Looked again at CJM dual pod for the defrost vent and decided I liked the one from Aeroforce better, as the venting portion has larger area for the defrost to work. Ordered Defi Volt and Boost gauge. I still need a boost tap though.
