Engine Swap

Hi Everybody;

My Golf 7 1.2 Engine needs to be changed due to piston break which damaged the Engine Block.

I have a 1.4 Engine and I need to know if I change the engine from 1.2 to 1.4 will the car function properly or I need make specific changes to make the car function properly.

I think if you have access to a good tuner shop with the ability to help with the ECU, it should be doable. Most of the engine swaps I've seen have been the 1.8 to the 2.0 here, and the hardest part is always getting the computers to talk correctly.

Did you come right with the swap... I'm planning on downgrading from 1.4 to 1.2 due to heavy oil consumption and misfire o 1.4.

Any advise.?
