Engine pinging from a dead stop

Hi,

As the title says, my car's engine occasionally pings. It did it from day 1. At first I thought it was because of the cheap gas the dealer put in the tank. But after my first refuel with 91 octane, it still does it occasionally. Could it be because my car has less than 300 miles? Any suggestions? Did you have the same experience? I will be calling the dealer, but would like to hear from the forum first.

I assume that the U.S. model can run on 91 unlike the European manufactured models which are min. 95?

91 is usually the highest we get on our average pumps. 95-100 octane are considered racing fuel here. then again, I am not too familiar with the differences between RON and AKI and such.

Yes we can run 91 here in the us. Our gas is crap though so I would suggest running 93 even if you have the 91 tune.
