DSG vs Dealer

So i just took my 2020 GTI for a DSG service at 40K miles cause i was supposed to have it included when i bought the car, and i just received a call from the dealer saying that the 7 speed DSG its not supposed to be serviced until 80K miles and to me just sounds like the dealer is trying to get out of it just to make me pay for it if i want it done at 40K

Anyone with a similar experience?

Should i just take my car to get serviced 2h away and stop dealing with the usual BS of the dealership?

Do it yourself, if you can do an oil change you can do a dsg service

They’re following the VW maintenance interval. The 7-spd was changed to 80k mile intervals. I don’t know why that’s the case but there’s no harm doing it now, just know that VW says it’s no longer required to do every 40k as it was before.
