Getting my DSG service done for $375 discounted and oil change for $60 in NY. I miss my slush box auto.

How long did it take?

About an hour. It's thick so it fills slow. Fill funnel, walk off and come back in 5 minutes. Lather, rinse, repeat.

Parts for oil change is about price I pay. They must get special price for bulk.

The only things that make it more difficult than an oil change are a) removing the battery and tray and b) monitoring the transmission temperature.

Nothing nasty about it.

I paid a shop $400 the first time. Did it myself for $80 the second time. It was slightly more difficult than an oil change.

You don't have to monitor anything. Empty it into a couple old milk gallon jugs or washer fluid jugs. Grab identical empty jugs. Add fluid to mimic old fluid. Pour those into funnel to replace exactly what came out. Easy peasy.

You figure DSG service would be done like 3-4 times in its life time. Until it goes. I would rather pay for convenience on my tight schedule.

Yup, I'm aware of that method, but I have VCDS and it's no big deal to monitor the transmission temp.

To complain about having to service the DSG?? I think that's it. I can't wait till he realizes tires have to be changed at some point too
