I paid a shop $400 the first time. Did it myself for $80 the second time. It was slightly more difficult than an oil change.

You don't have to monitor anything. Empty it into a couple old milk gallon jugs or washer fluid jugs. Grab identical empty jugs. Add fluid to mimic old fluid. Pour those into funnel to replace exactly what came out. Easy peasy.

You figure DSG service would be done like 3-4 times in its life time. Until it goes. I would rather pay for convenience on my tight schedule.

Yup, I'm aware of that method, but I have VCDS and it's no big deal to monitor the transmission temp.
