But the Cobb sport tune for the DQ381 is pretty damn good atleast, but yeah hope they release the software for the tuners soon.
Agreed. Ran the OEM + tune for a few weeks and wished the car came stock like that. Sport is much better suited to the Eqt stage 2 tune I have now.

I've had a few complaints in to the dealership about the DSG on my '18 R, but nothing has been done so far. Specifically it's the 2nd to 3rd gear shift that just annoys the hell out of me so much that I have begun to hate driving the car. The very few times the DSG behaves I start to forgive it, but the problem now happens about 90% of the time. Sometimes its more pronounced and other times it is subtle. The trouble is I am so keyed into the issue that even the subtle shit shifts I notice. And it just frustrates me so much. Race mode generally has no issues shifting, neither does manual mode. It's just the Standard mode.

Rob

Dear Rob,

Go back and read your post. All anyone can discern from it is that something about the shift between 2nd to 3rd makes you unhappy. Is it the shift point? Is the shift too harsh? Does the clutch slip? Is it making noises? Does the problem occur in every mode? Maybe if you get a bit more specific you might then get some useful responses.

I have a different year and a DSG tune, so my circumstances are different from yours, OP. Still, if the dealership can't sort it out, instead of reflashing your DSG, you could just keep it in S mode. Once my oil temps are up, I do even when just puttering around town.

Aw, give poor OP a break. I have the same problem with mine, assuming it's the stuff discussed here:
https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/dq381-hard-2-3-shift.356161/https://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?9236907-2018-R-DSG-occasional-harsh-rough-shifts/page5
Best answer I've got is to give TVS a try. I haven't broken down and shelled out the cash yet, but they say they can fix it. The details from @EVOBert seem to suggest they must have an early production '19. I couldn't find any '19 Rs that did it when I tried. It's a very specific problem under very specific circumstances. A dogbone/pendulum does make it a little less noticeable, but doesn't eliminate the issue or help a ton.

Some theories on the disappearance of OP :
- Carole killed OP too
- He just needed to vent, and now he loves his DSG

Any others?

Recommend you perform a basic DSG adaptation reset and see if it has any affect on the shifting. https://forums.ross-tech.com/showth...aption-procedure&p=76381&viewfull=1#post76381
If you are using OBD11 https://forum.obdeleven.com/thread/1127/dsg-adaptation-re-calibration-capability

If no vagcom, you can try the procedure used here to reset DSG adaptation without software. That poster had the same issue of hard shifts in "D" mode: https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/inde...q250-mqb-clutch-calibration-and-reset.337968/

It does help....for about 2 days, then the behavior returns.
