salut les amis, je possède une golf 7 gti
. Je souhaite installer un échappement sport
ESt-ce que cela améliore la fiabilité du turbo ?

hi friends, I own a golf 7 gti with twincooler and jb4
. I want to fit a downpipe with 200 cell sport catalyst on the car
currently I am in map 6 clutch economy with + 4.5 psi
I ask myself several questions
is the oem downpipe really restrictive? how much HP does it add ?? Does this improve the reliability of the turbo?

About 20hp with broader powerband and less heat/stress on same boost, with JB4 clutchsaver map 6 I see no issue but on aggressive tunes overboost and compressor surge is common with free flowing intake and exhaust.

thank you, so if I understand correctly on a tune (map 1 or map 6 light) it is useless to replace the original downpipe? because I risk overboost and surge of the compressor

No downside with light JB4 map, risk comes with hard boost flashtunes

ok so going up a downpipe will add 20whp even on a light tune (4.5 / 5 psi)
how many cells does the original downpipe have?

20whp might be a stretch but you can add more boost in higher RPM, just adjust E85 blend and FOL so you dont run out of fuel.
