Door lock issue

Hi guys,

2018 GTD Variant, rear driver side door (LHD) are not locking, only manually by turning the white knob at the bottom of the lock. Lights do come up, the instruments show the door as opened. Everything works fine except the locking...I have checked the wires, the fuse, I have physically removed the lock, checked and sprayed the contacts and everything seemed fine to me.
Note: the lock has SAFE feature.

Central electornics unit shows the electrical failure of that door locking mechanism. I am not quite sure what is the difference between the electrical failure and short to plus or ground. I have always thought that short to plus/ground shall mean the wiring issue. I am expecting electrical failure for the first time, so I am not sure about the reason of an error. I assume that it relates to the fault in the elctrical circuit of the lock, i. e. faulty lock, but I do not want to buy new lock and find out that the reason is somewehre else.

I am attaching an autoscan.

I would appreciate any kind of help. Thank you very much.

Solved. Replaced the locking mechanism.
Can you elaborate? Did you replace the door latch actuator? or the controller? I believe the latching mechanism and the door latch actuator is one unit.

My car is at the dealership for this issue (passenger front door doesn't want to lock, car keeps trying to lock the doors when going 15 mph).
2nd time this happened, first time - they replaced the latch / actuator and the controller I believe. It basically happened again after a year and a half.

I replaced the whole door lock, since it's made repair-proof in my opinion. I'm not very handy in disassembling such mechanisms and I bought a genuine used lock for 20 euros...it was a bargain for me rather than repairing the old one.
