Does new Mk8 style grill ACC badge fits into Mk7.5?

Hi,

Just for curiosity – anybody know whether new style VW badge/logo for front grill from Mk8 fits into Mk7.5? I’m talking about version equipped with ACC/radar for emergency braking behind the smooth emblem.

For mk7.5, the number should be 3G0853601A while for mk8, it is 5H0853601G.

Since Mk7.5 has similar badge like Passat B8, there potential compatibility could be even broader (eg. Tiguan Mk2 facelift). But it is nor only about diameter but also about inside catches that holds the badge in the grill.

Any hints? Thanks

I did the same on my gti you need t cross new logo, mk8 logo have different angle

That part # won't work here in the US cause its a Euro Part #. So unless they buy the 2GM853601E from Europe somewhere. Can't get them from dealers in the US.

Thanks! What exactly do you mean by "angle"?...for example that the logo fits but ACC won't work due to different distance from the radar to logo surface?

...or just that it won't fit due to different mounting points in the logo and in the grill?

i remember buying it last year for around 35 euros, is so expensive now.

Yep, prices went thru the roof. It was something like 75 euros at the dealer last year and now it's 117. Old 3G0 part for passat b8 (and golf mk7.5 too) is even more expensive now, at 153. Convert it to whatever currency you prefer.

Such increase for such a little bit of plastic and maybe some ceramic inside is unjustifiable!

FYI old version from Polo, Troc/cross also fits for Golf Mk7.5. The number is 2GA853601 but it is still with old style logo. However, the part is considerably cheaper that the Passat 3G0... that is factory fitted to Golfs.

Yes, I just installed it on my mk7.5 gti today

Yes I did you can use mk8 rear emblem 5H0853630Adpj with rear camera
The only problem it seats lower I install
some black covers to cover the gap and looks amazing
