I have just bought a 2020 Golf match edition 1.5 petrol. The engine has a weird clicking sound coming from it and the dealership says there is nothing wrong with that. I recorded the sound:
Welcome to the forum. Unfortunately yes they all sound like that. Below is a product that will quiet it but it's expensive although it is a one time treatment.
The clicking sound you are hearing are the fuel injectors opening and closing and there is literally nothing you can do about it unless you swap the engine for a port injection motor.
If your hood insulation is gone or the engine cover is gone you can replace those but that's about it.
