I didn't even know about this mod until @bobloblawGTI bumped this thread . . . damn it.

Yessir. Like many, searched around the rubber boot part # rather than the strap itself. I guess it's a bit of a dice roll with revision you get. Keeping my fingers crossed there's no issues, probably give the install a go for the long Fourth weekend.

While you're in there I would assume sound treatment for the doors, wiring added wiring for door warning exit light, wiring for illuminated door handles, new speakers (obviously)... and if you believe in my Areaview (360) project you could pull that wiring into the mirrors.

Why not just go full OEM Dynaudio while you're at it. I mean you're already drilling out the rivets, am I right?
Also I got an email from VW OEM Parts online that their parts are up to 35% off. Checked the door straps and they are down to ~$75/each with the boot. Still too high. I guess I'll go the ebay route.
