It would help. Comparing to others that have a 60-130 you can see that’s easy 8s. But why 60-90?

It's hard to tell from the angle in the video but it looks like your coolant temp is lower than mine . What coolant temp do you usually have?

Log coolant temp on the AP and you see that the gauge is just a dummy showing "ok zone"
Yup, vw been that way for a very long time... I learned this in my mk4 gli and coordinated it with my mk4 beetle turbo
S/mk6 gli/and this car.

The day I brought it home; Feb 26, 2016. 2015 GTI, Tornado Red 4 door SE LP DAP with 11k on it. Jun 2015 build, still had original tires with 90%+ tread.

Only downside is that it was a Missouri car so that meant....HOLES IN THE BUMPER. arg. Oh well, it was cheap due to dieselgate. So, I found some dude online who custom makes these. Pulled the bumper and dropped them in.

Better than bumper plugs but the paint is always peeling off. oh well.

Lookin sexy without all them rock chips.

Time for power mods.

Got a JB1 a few months later, ran it on 5.0 on pump 93...then nasty summer heat hit. You could feel the throttle closures and stuttering due to heat when you stomped on it. It HATED 90+ days. So, over winter I delved into intercoolers. I wanted to keep my power in the summer and due to DAP couldn't put in a FMIC. Decided I liked what I heard about Integrated Engineering so I waited for a sale and snapped it up for $700 shipped. Install was fun times.

Upgraded to the JB4 and figured I'd be good for awhile. Then MAP shows up with their house-made downpipes. Ok, I'm interested but I hate what I hear from soundclips online. Can it be made quieter? "MAP, will you add a resonator?" Yes? Take my money. $520 poorer I wait...and finally it shows up a few months later. It's beautiful.

Got a little more pep in the step. Sound fine as long as you don't sit at 2600-3000, otherwise trombone noizes.

Decided it needed some looks to match the sound. BMS drops some billet tips. Matte black and a 5 minute install? It's on.

How does she pull? Fast enough to fend off pesky minivans. Sorry about hitting the horn. This is on JB4 send on E30.

Farts? You betcha.

Tunnel farts

Triple fart

Not bad for E30.

Bought a DA polisher to remove the PO and dealer-induced swirls. If you look close you can see Santos L Halper.

Random shiny pic.

Bought some blue tinted mirrors. They were shit and delaminated. Tossed em and got OEM aspherical mirrors. No pics of those, sorry.

Everything was going fine, enjoying the car. She pull pretty good.

Then reasonably priced hybrid turbos started showing up. Vargas shows up (lol) and starts showing what you can do on a JB4 and a hybrid turbo. Dyno numbers looking good. What's this top end stuff? My IS20 doesn't pull well in 4th. This isn't going to end well for my pocketbook. It was late one night...I was cruising around the net....a coupon popped up and my credit card info somehow got typed in. Whoops. That's how baby hybrid turbos are born. My Tomioka Racing IHX475 "Tapioca" was lovingly brought into the world on April 3, 2018.

Already bigger than her older brother. She hongry.

Install was...somewhat traumatic. Not the actual install. That wastegate. whooo boy. Got her up and running though. Went out and thrashed it.

So, back to thrashing....

yeah, that's not good. JB4 no good, not enough fuel and I'm not going back to pump gas. Decisions decisions. Cobb or Eurodyne? The AP is awesome but the lack of custom tuners is disappointing. Also, no DSG tuning (remember, this is 2018). I ask around and someone mentions wy2sl0 tunes Eurodyne. He is already tuning another on this turbo so it's a no-brainer. Several sessions later we find the end of the HPFP.

I look at cost and ease of MPI install vs HPFP. HPFP is cheaper and easier so I buy it.

In retrospect, I wish I had just sucked it up and done MPI, but oh well. Tuning continues. Finally finish that up, it runs very well. So I begin to wonder, how much power does it make? Why I decided I needed to know this in the middle of July is beyond me, but schedule a dyno session. It's hot. Dyno screen shows 100F inside the building. Let's open the door? nah. Let's get a window fan running? nah. Should I turn the AC on and heatsoak this poor guys IC? Yep. Sad day on the dyno.

Proud of the car though. Awfully consistent considering the conditions.

Just how bad was it? This is the red dyno line, the first run. That's not fahrenheit BTW.

There's so little oxygen that the injectors are just like, meh, we can flow this easy to meet lambda target.

Timing....poor

https://datazap.me/u/diggs24/log-1530916153?log=0&data=1-18

fakepower....bad

https://datazap.me/u/diggs24/log-1530916153?log=0&data=1-25

So, the dyno sucks. Feels a whole lot more powerful on the street. So, how fast is it? Time to buy a Dragy.
