There's no delusions here.
I initially went with a JB4 since it was pretty much the gold standard for MK7 piggybacks, but the PCM seems much more prevalent in the MK8 scene. I'm aware the end result will probably be
"They're so similar, it doesn't matter". I never would have paid full price for the PCM to try it while having a JB4, but getting it cheap enough where I can essentially get my money back selling one interested me.
Interesting thread in that over 500+ pages, Acadia progressively upgrades to nicer Golfs whilst simultaneously downgrading his tuning. We started with a 7GTI with both EQT and Sneeky custom tunes and now we're at an 8R with a JB4 and...a racingline piggyback
Going from a $17k GTI to a $38k R will have that effect
And since I am actively taking advantage of the warranty, I'd say it was the right call.
stack em pusey
buddy has an 8 GTI with the Racingline module and while I won't say it's an insane improvement, it feels good, and definitely maintains the smoothness and OEM feel. And for warranty purposes he was happy
Sums up what I'm looking for pretty much.
