I think I got ~5k out of mine before it threw that code too, but I put a failed attempt of a burble tune on mine and I think that was my problem.

If you don't have burbles though, I'm now half expecting for my CEL to return lol

Also... You know, the more I'm running through scenarios in my head, maybe if I go down this path, selling my R to C-Max is the better play.

My current offer from CarMax is $28k. Now, I wouldn't expect the dealer to give me that on a trade. I'd be happy\lucky if they gave me $27k (which was my initial offer from CarizzleMaxizzle).

The MK8 is $37,375. If I got $27k trade in it would be (37375 - 27000)*1.07 = $11,101, since I'd pay reduced tax on the MK8 due to the trade. If I sold it to CM, it would be (37375*1.07)-28000 = $11,991, since I'd pay tax on the full price of the MK8. So, it would only cost $890 extra if I sold the car to CarMax instead of trading it in. Additional benefit would be I'd have the overlap where I bought the MK8, and had a week or so to strip the MK7.5 of anything I wanted to keep before bringing it in to CarMax to appraise\sell. With the additional time, could do things like remove my FMIC and power folding mirrors.

Looks like some of the grill is open, some of it is blocked off... Those little bits of the body color showing through right on the left and right...

Pic from Friday when we worked out the deal. Didn't say anything until today when the financing came in, just in case. Premature celebration and all.

Easiest dealer purchase ever. Said "CarMax will buy it for $28k, so I plan on just selling it to them. I know I'll get the tax deduction if I trade it in, so if you want it as a trade, my price is $27k."

Kid just goes "I want this on our lot. I'll get you the $27k."

And he did. Told him I'd put it back mostly stock, said as long as it had 4 wheels and all the body panels, I could take off whatever I wanted. Spent the weekend doing that.

A bunch of stuff still went with it. Was too lazy to take off the RSB and FMIC. So they'll go. The 9.2" screen and hacked MIB2.5 are included, as I sold my 8" screen. Will probably toss the stock MIB2 unit in the hatch. Steering wheel, same. Sold the OEM one. Bremfauxs, sold OEM brakes. Homelink Mirror, was too lazy to take off.

APR Throttle Booster (getting that off was the hardest thing I did, harder than the fucking downpipe), ECS Rear Wiper Delete, and my dashcam will all be transferred over.

Shitty downside. The car has tinted windows. My guess is 15% or so. Which won't pass inspection in RI. So my options were either bring it to my guy and pay to get it overlooked (~$240 or so), or have them take it off and pay to get it re-tinted (~$250 or so). Since one of the windows, the rear small quarter window, had fucked up tint, I just said take it off. So tint is getting removed just so I can pay to put it back on in a few weeks...
