All tint being illegal is nuts...Windshield tint's illegal here but you still see people doing crazy shit like 20%. It's so obvious and I'm not really a fan of the look. I went 80% and you can't tell it's tinted at all.

Yup. It's annoying. But the cops mostly don't care. I've been stopped before without it even mentioned. Only if they were in a bad mood, they could tack "illegal tint" on to any traffic violation.

Was browsing a shop's website the other day and apparently there's now "transparent" ceramic tints out there? So you get a decent reduction in IR transmission with essentially zero VLT reduction. Sounded pretty cool.

I’m pulling the tints from my car (leaving windshield since it’s already 70%) and then replacing it with a “clear” or max % ceramic solely for the UV and heat protection since I want the look of the car to have visible interior
