Got my coding from ACM Technik done last night. They fixed two out of three of my gripes with starting the car; I was able to fix the third on my own.
So, when starting the car, there was a whole annoying routine. First, because this was a very early model 2022 car, it has an older v1880 firmware on the infotainment. This firmware has an annoying bug where it wouldn't apply your EQ settings when you turn on the car. So you'd have to go into the sound settings, and toggle them back and forth to get them to apply. I updated the infotainment to v1941, which isn't the latest, but at least has the bug fixed.
The other two things you'd have to do when turning on the car, is disabled start/stop since I find that annoying, and go into the mode menu to go to the 'Custom' drive mode, since it doesn't default to the last used mode. So every time I'd start the car; go into sound settings, toggle EQ, turn off start/stop, and chose my drive mode. Annoying.
I tried one of those Zhong Zhong start/stop delete cables that plugs into the canbus, but it only worked like 20% of the time. So part of the coding changes ACM did were to remember the drive mode, and he was like "You want me to disable start/stop?" Fuck yes I do. So now that whole annoying routine when getting in the car is fixed!
The other changes they did... They flashed whatever which improves the sound. It's not a night and day difference, it is just software after all, but it did improve the sound a fair amount. Well worth it. As well, they activated the matrix functionality of the lights. I don't drive much at night, so probably won't see the benefit too much, but the lights do now do that little matrix dance when starting up, which is cool.
All in all, well worth the $500 to me. Whole process took about 20 minutes.
