Again, do you think they actually keep leafy greens safe or are they a lobbyist group created by growers to lobby congress to let them regulate themselves, while we still have large E Coli outbreaks from leafy greens every year that could be avoided by not growing greens next to livestock?

I can assure you it's the latter, as congress hasn't passed laws against growing greens right next to livestock and we have E Coli outbreaks every year.

You completely missed the point.

Well, considering the CDC says the outbreak is over, I'd say... yeah, it seemed to work?

Or are you going to go full Zrick and say we can't trust the CDC now?

:ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I didn't miss the point, just didn't feel we were advancing anywhere and there was no need to continue. I presented my points of argument, and all you could do is essentially keep saying "China = bad". You have your views, I have mine, and neither seem to be changing, that's all. Best thing you can hope for is that I put them, the pedal feels like shit since you feel they're garbage calipers, I swap my stocks back on, and call this a wasted $300 experiment.

Arcadia = bad, boneless nuggies = good

I think changing my username would alleviate the problem with name misspellings.

Also, very liberal use of the word "Recently"...

And I sees it. I'll leave it until next time I change my thread title.

You're seriously delusional if you think this association is anything other than PR. You can't even get manufacturers to comply with legal requirements and you think being part of this association means anything? It's a glorified lobbying group.

I bet you think the leafy greens association is keeping your spinach safe too. (That's a real association).

If you think your life is worth $300, you go for it.
I spent enough time reading the IATF "requirements" to know that you can get an IATF cert with a self-audit. It's a silly stamp.

I'm not saying china = bad, but I don't think being a member of this org is super meaningful. Brands like Brembo have an actual reputation, they can't afford to kill people with poor castings. Zuhuan Huayang Machinery Co. can open a new alibaba account tomorrow (or likely have several alts like many of these factories, to keep their account age) and none of the clueless cheap Mk7 kids will know the difference.

I suspect most of the OE-knockoff products you can get on alibaba probably work just fine with average use over a year or two, enough to meet 95% of warranty cases. Would I go to the track on knock-off calipers, or throw 30+ psi of boost at off-brand chinese pistons? Probably not. Can you use them in a stock street car and not die? Probably.

More and more I see people (and "tuners") going on alibaba, seeing something that can visually pass for a performance part and assume that means you're just getting a cheap deal by cutting out the middle man. Instead you get terrible shipping and a pain in the dick warranty.

The nasty part of this is when these parts end up on the used market represented as oem or the car ends up in the next owners hands.

I'd never swap out the oem R brakes for an unknown quality set of brakes.

"Probably" not dying due to unknown quality of a part isn't my kind of gamble.

Consider changing your name to something obscure for the google search results

I think ▯▯▯ accomplishes that. Although, not as good as "the". Maybe if Jay could finally approve the request...

i mean, i've always wondered, when buying certain parts, such as zimmerzhong rotors for instance, where they are really from, how do we know that factory is legit, etc. i think we can all put some serious coin on most of the 'ECS' and 'CTS' parts they sell as being the exact parts you can get from alibieblala and ironing their stickers on them.

It seems to me, Cicada did his research pretty thoroughly here, possibly indeed cutting out a middle man like a porsche dealer or a site like ECS tuning. At this point it seems a little more likely this is the case than him buying some serious QC issued riddled factory trying to roughly mimic braking parts that may or may not catastrophically fail.

As he pointed out, this factory has been in business for, what was it, 17 years or something? That is sometimes the ONLY indicator that perhaps they are legitimate.

I say full send it on an empty road with plenty of room to stop - just remember, your electronic e-brake does not work while in motion. the car only makes ~260whp anyway

Again, the difference is the company having parts built to their specs are QC'ing the parts.

Reread scrllocks post again slowly. He stated what I've been trying to say much clearer and concisely.

The certification of any kind of industry in a made up associations non binding standards shouldn't give anyone a sense of security, whether it's spinach or brake calipers.

Acadia is 100% being a dumbass risking his life and car over $300.

If he was smart, he'd reinstall the OEM brakes and throw the knockoffs in the garbage. Knockoff calipers can and do fail. Same with knock off wheels, etc...

The factory isn't what makes a part good or bad. It's the manufacturer specs and qc that are important. Going "straight to the source" means they can deviate from those specs in materials and tolerances and leave you with a part that will fail.

If nothing else, I hope the voices of reason in this thread keep others from buying garbage parts.
