i mean considering so much of our fruit comes directly from mexico, its nice to just be at the source.

we bought a BAG of like 10 perfect ripe avocados for $1 USD off some 12yo yesterday.
avocados are usually like $2 each
If you want to retire at 40 years old this might be the place. lmao

Sounds like you should start a black market Avocado trade. Smuggle up a bunch buying them a $1/dozen, and sell them at $1/each.

It's a very real strategy actually. Not just in Mexico either, there's a bunch of Central/South American countries that people retire to for exactly that reason.

Personally, I would prefer Portugal as a retirement destination, but not sure I can get my wife on board.
Get a nice farm somewhere in Alentejo....grow my own olives, make my own wine. Have a couple lemon trees in the backyard.

You're singing my tune.

Sorry to hear about your sister @riceburner, that's indeed a rough time. Hopefully you're able to focus on the positive ways she has touched the lives of others.

Think I just made some dudes day in a passat gt. He was about a car ahead of me on the right. When he saw me he rolled his window down and slowed down to get next to me. It's a little nicer today so I already had all my windows rolled down and the sunroof open. Then I hear him yell, HIT IT! Ok sir, so I down shifted into 3rd and pulled out in front of him. I had a car right in front of me, but the passat dude was leaving me enough room to get in front of him. I think he wanted to play a little, but I don't really do that and I started driving into some rain and my turn was coming up ahead so I had other things to focus on.

I think I'd prefer a farm down in Peru. But when I feel so homesick I think I'm goin' insane, I'll travel back to Dallas in a low-flying plane

Sorry to hear this. Is this the sister I met a few years ago with you guys at brauerhaus?
omg i remember that haha! No, that is one of her other sisters but great memory dude!

The one we came with works at VW Puebla, as a trainer of sorts.
The sister who is passing aways husband also works at VW in tech testing with the German engineers. Prety cool gig from the sounds of it.

Would I move to Puebla to work for VW? Iono....
