Maaaaaaaan woodski you gotta chill, SCCA rallycross is accessible. It's like shitting on autocross because it's not time attack/road racing.

then again maybe we'd all have rockefeller money if we managed it better

no, real rallycross is this

scca rallycross is literally autocross on dirt and its stupid

I'm clearly not up to date with the crosses.

That just looks like they threw some dirt on a track...

I thought that was what Easter was all about, the crosses

PS I get that it's not for everybody, personally I've been enjoying the crap out of autocross and it's definitely made me a better driver. Wife and I are discussing trips to Pocono this year, which is a super fun venue.

Autox is great for honing in your skills and absolutely makes you a better driver in all aspects. Just lacks the fun factor for me and sucks that youre there basically all day and drive less than 15 mins total.

I'd like to do some HPDE stuff, but the cost of consumables (and upside-down risk factor) make me a little antsy. Autocross scratches the itch, and by extension trackcross seems like it'd be in the area of what I'd like. I've never done a trackday, but we're looking at an ND Miata as a dedicated racecar rather than try to keep up with two independent cars. I dunno, I'm in no hurry to do anything in particular in life at this point. I'm enjoying time with friends, both local and online, and doing the motorsports accessible to me.

also I'm not nearly as serious about it as some folks... I try to push myself and the car, buuuuuuut I'm not worried about corner weighting/making all the possible adjustments to get those last few thousandths. Realistically, I still have a lot to learn to really start finding time, so I'm pretty much just putting around a parking lot looking for a space, but with cones

drift it br0 :ROFLMAO: #Lloydrule

That’s what keeps me from trying it. I can’t/don’t want to be there all day. Plus it’s not near me so I have to drive a good bit on top of that.

some days/mornings I really don't want to get up, and I'm all grumpy about the drive. But by the time I'm on site it's largely waned, and sitting at the start line I'm 100% on board with my life choices. It's exciting (and tense) to see the times start showing up, and pushing to eke out the little bits to try to stay at least within the pack (our first event, my class is 10 cars, and I won't be surprised if we're all within 2s of each other). I've never gotten a first place win, in previous years I could chalk it up to the car/tire but this past year and this year I know everything else is sorted, I just need to not make mistakes. The seat time itself isn't really a factor in my mind, we've got a great group and it's almost as much a social thing as it is a driving/motorsports thing.

Oh, and my wife and I go out for wings afterwards. I love wings. So that's always something I look forward to, even when I'm disappointing my entire bloodline with my shitty driving.
