CSB:

at work we fired someone for cause....I go to my boss "I'm next". Him "You're kinda like Trump and you could kill someone. We wouldn't like it but you probably wouldn't be fired"

back to our regularly scheduled discussion, rallycross is real, I think @mwoodski is thinking of Stage Rally (though RallySprint is definitely a program some SCCA regions have held, which is pretty dope). Is it for me? Not at this moment, I don't have anything I'm willing to put in the dirt. Is it the fate of the Notaspeed3 once I have another daily/AX car? Abso-diddly-goddamn-lutely-tootily.

and 2x4 method is dangerous but approved danger, not quite like taking the guard off of your grinder dangerous but probably more akin to not wearing a face shield dangerous.

nice! i too have the next 5 years planned down to the gnat's ass with paychecks, bills, etc. i shared a spreadsheet with a few on here looking to simplify their lives a bit if its hard to track bills and map out their cashflow.

I started using YNAB (YouNeedABudget) a few months ago and it's been helpful because I'm not manually maintaining a spreadsheet.

I'm sure it's somewhat dependent on income level, but daily/weekly/monthly budgeting has always seemed like overkill to me. I do it once a year; total my expenses (mortgage, utilities, phone, etc.), set a savings goal, spend the rest. I get paid on the last of the month, all my bills and savings come out the first of the month, and whatever is left is fun money.

I used to have a different spreadsheet that did things on a monthly basis, but it got to be confusing with when things were due and needed paid and whatnot. Now I've got every paycheck mapped out, and an overall plan where I only spend a certain amount per-paycheck on the credit card, put a designated amount into savings, etc. I get it though, overall the important thing is getting the finances under control and having a plan. For a long time my income wasn't predicable enough to have any sort of a plan, but once you can develop a minimum income on a regular basis it's a lot easier to plan.

I'm skeptical of things like Mint though, I prefer to do it all manually.

Real rallycross also puts you against Tanner Foust. Unless you've got Rockefeller money, forget it.
