WTF kind of test drive is needed for a scratch repair?

What place is this so I know to never go there.

reminds me of a time i took my MK6 to a midas to have a tire replaced (or something that definitely didn't warrant a test drive for any reason).

a tech just pulls my car out right in front of me while i'm waiting outside, and guns it down the road flat out, probably up to 80 or so MPH.

Colonial VW in Westboro was mid - went to their parts department for some hardware and they couldn't help me.
I've got a few friends that work at Gervais VW in Lowell and they're great help.

Hogan & Van. Fuck those guys. They also had my car for 3+ weeks. Left clear coat boogers and adhesive all over it. Can’t forget that when they taped it off they dragged their sheeting down the car and put a bunch of micro scratches into the coating. Called them out on all of it. Total ducks.

sorry in advance for car talk. My helpers daughter just bought a 2017 GTI I asked "How much?"

$20K!! I just looked and 5 second search this seemed "normal" WTF! I feel for those purchasing in todays market. FWIW I got my 17 Sport for a bit under $25K (+TTL) and got good $ for my trade in.

I had typed up a different reply, but holy shit. I just realized a 2017 GTI is a six year old car, and 20k for a six year old car is nuts.

Its truly crazy. I got my 2016 Performance Pack SE in 2019 for 16k. Sold it a year or two later for 17. Bet if i could find the same one for sale now it would be 20.
