tbh I find it hard to imagine waiting 20 minutes for it to boot up. My work is all SSDs so it's pretty reasonable. But with that said, even my home PC (that might get reboots like once a month) only takes a couple seconds to cold boot and be usable

I just got a new workstation at the office. First new one in 8.5 years. Granted, it did cost close to $7k haha. But I restart every morning and am quite vigilant with keeping it clean.

Agreed, I hate getting a new PC when the old one is fine. They give us good machines with SSD but all of the corp policies that get pushed on restart take forever

Today we've all been complaining about our 5+ minute startup times but we forgot the slowest startup time of all ITT: 1.5 years, was it?

Big thanks to the LED beam light bros. Got both 6packs all hung up over the weekend, but had some "120 Y/O House that's been given the Landlord Special for 30+ years" moments that necessitated a smile order or two. Those showed up last night, so I was able to get it finished.

  • The basement lighting has never looked this good!!!! It's amazing!
  • The basement has never looked this terrible! It's amazing!
Super happy about actually being able to see, and not have a terribly dark/shadowy storage space. Looking forward to running on the treadmill without having to put one of my emergency lights on an HVAC duct.

Not super happy about seeing all of our laziness and organizational sins literally brought to light.
