CSB:

we have ongoing internet security training. they send fake emails if you report them you get an atta boy.

last week I get a suspicious email and report it.....nothing
I talk to our IT guy (not full time/part owner)

Me "I got this suspicious email...reported it and didn't get an answer"
Him "send me a screen shot of the email"
Me "done"
Him "This is how you add someone to the blocked sender list"
Me "Yeah, I do that daily....how come I didn't get an answer on this email....I would have accepted a "proceed with caution" Do they only detect emails that they send?"
Him "That's the way the algorithm works"

this is the same person that argued that 55 F was too cold for the server room

They do this at my place and make some really good fakes. I just report every email that comes from IT security now 🤷
The last agency I worked for hired some company to do that. The emails were painfully obvious but people still fell for them.

But yes, I got to the point too where I reported every message from IT as spam.

maybe. then maybe make them bigger until they're like 1/2"
I've had mine stretched to 1/2" since I was 15, I'm 40 now. If I could go back in time I probably wouldn't do it again. I don't necessarily regret it, but it does have some cons for sure.
  • Definitely holds you back in a corporate America setting, although it's starting to become more acceptable these days
  • Ear cheese is real
  • Random strangers will get in your face and violate you, I've had complete strangers try to stick their finger through my ears. Came very close to punching several people over this.
  • The stretching process sucks, you have to go real slow to not get blowouts, most people go too fast, it hurts like a mofo.

Mine aren’t gauged.

Jay has some good insight on that. You can get them surgically closed back up but it won’t be the same. I’d start regular and think about the gauging.

Work trip tomorrow, flight departs at 6AM. That maths out to something like a 3AM wakeup time... guess I'll go see how my boss feels about expensing a night at a hotel up at the airport.

Personal (work) preference: I'd rather spend an extra day traveling and not wake up at some ungodly hour, especially when it's a trip where everyone needs to be sharp. This is a QA trip and we're heading to the customer's plant on travel day - there's no way we're gonna be at 100%. Rather fly in today, plant in the morning and then fly home that afternoon or the next day.

it was -1F/-13C this morning and I'm supremely butthurt about it. I have a ton of parts just sitting in my living room because it's too cold to work on anything unless absolutely necessary, and it's the barrier keeping me from driving literally anything but the milf truck which makes me want to rapidly ingest a lead salad

Working on cars in the cold sucks. We ripped the turbo/head/manifold off my friends pile on Saturday when it was ~15

I had 1/2" gauges too, took them out ~13 years ago and there's still a noticeable hole. I forget about them but a lot of students ask if I had earrings..... if I cared more or noticed them when I looked in a mirror maybe I'd do something about it

I took mine out for about a year before after I lost one and hate shopping. After a year I put it right back in no problem. Like a loose butthole at one of @Pineapple 's Christmas parties
