I'm constantly tempted by both options because I'm on a kick about removing the red from the exterior where I can, but I'd like to be able to revert if necessary. How's pad availability?

I'm grateful I am not on drugs let alone homeless, living in the streets struggling day by day just to make a dollar.

Often times most of us wish we had more and could do more. Like, I use to think money was the root to happiness when in reality its good to have but doesn't define happiness.

Happiness is having a good time with family and close friends.

Happiness is having fun at the dog park w/ your puppy

Happiness is finally installing that one part on your car that you waited quite some time for.

Those are just examples obviously but the more we appreciate where we are now, the better our lives would be.

being homeless sucks all the ass, being unemployed also sucks. Not having the financial security to do things to make you happy is definitely a big factor that I think gets forgotten about, because most people who bring up the simple pleasures in life (myself included) aren't faced with food insecurity. We waited quite a while to adopt a pet because we wanted to be sure we could afford to provide a good home.

I don't disagree though, appreciating the little things you have in life helps to brighten things.

do you gotta get a bigger master to upgrade to those?

I don't think there's a bigger master available for our cars than the one used in the GTI and R.

These are high retraction calipers, so reassemble with Castrol RRG, do a good 30 psi bleed, bed pads, then rebleed.

i know theres no need to step up to a bigger master when upgrading to the 312's bc its literally just a rotor and caliper bracket swap.

Not a wizard. Pagid has a search function that allowed me to pull up every application with that backing plate and width.

but aren't master cylinders the same across MQB? From GTI to RS3 there's no difference.

Just ran a VIN from a 2015 1.8l A3, a 2018 S3, and a 2019 RS3.

The 1,8 has a 5Q1-614-019-AC-REP master, while the S3 and RS3 have 5Q1-614-019-AD-REP for their p/n.

So at minimum the S3/R and RS3 all use the same master, but the base uses a different one.

The 1,8 has 312mm rotors, the S3 has 340's, and the RS3 has 370's.

So the A3 has the same brake setup as a non-PP GTI.

I learned a long time ago, when you make more you spend more.

The S/O and I have tripled our combined salaries from 7 years ago, but we aren't setting aside THAT much more into the savings. We are however traveling a hell of a lot more.

Of course part of that was also because 7 years ago we were aggressive with our savings and now we're not since ain't noone buying a home in this crazy ass market. 7.5% on a 30 year fixed? My last mortgage was nearly half that and the home prices were too!
