Racing has given me a whole different appreciation of cars. Like, there are things I wish the mk7 did better (looking at you, stupid VW transmissions that don't like fast shifting), but overall I think they're an excellent balance. But for dedicated racecar things, I feel like Honda offers a pretty damn compelling package.

But if I'm honest with myself, I accidentally became a big fan of Mazda in the commuter car space, and will buy a Miata for dedicated autocross car things.

Like this is an extreme example but hearing the evolution of the Ferrari GT cars is so sad.

F430/F458 had the n/a V8

488 has the turbo V8

...and the new 296 has the turbo v6.

it just keeps getting worse and worse.

that individual v6 I'll grant doesn't sound as good but IMO it's a contest of speed, not sound. I've heard some awful sounding cars at autocross events (opposite end of the extreme example but still) BUT they were damn quick drivers, so who am I to judge

Turbo V6's are the second worst sounding engines on the planet, the first worst are N/A V6's.

turbo anything outside of those examples sounds worse than an equivalent n/a motor.

I have no interest in watching the video but if it's a 4 rotor (...26b?) I can see 1000hp if you add some honking big turbos and turn that boost up. 500hp isn't impossible on a 13b.

He finally dynoed it recently. Forgot the total #s but def over 1000 AWHP and i also (think) at or close to 1000AWTQ, not turned up to 11 either. Really quick spooling, great full torque curve for a 4 rotor.

Hence im surprised he isnt completely annihilating everything, but then again 1000awhp isnt god status these days either and his entire car is custom so there is so much yet to fully dial in

Heres the vids. 1000 ft lbs awtq! Thing truly is nasty and its been incredible to watch him voer the years.

Hes a self made guy who started some tech company years back just to buy a diable, then got heavy into rotaries. He and his buddy fab extensively everything inhouse, make their own wiring harnesses and all sorts of shit. I really respect what hes up to.

I thought you had a B5 S4 you were trying to sell or trade.

Holy n00b. Clearly you werent around in my build thread during november.

Sold my golf r and got a b8 and a b5. B8 is primarily for my wife when she needs to drive. B5 so i could row gears and because b5.

No car is forever especially for me so im still kind of in between switching it up or waiting for a buyer for either.
