Random question. Any frequent Delta flyers in here? We are in Atlanta, so it's usually our best option. We had a flight to Japan planned for December, but things fell through, so now we have this huge eCredit with a June 2024 expiration date. Anyone know if you have to take the actual flight by the expiration date or if you just need to book the flights by then? Example: Could I book a flight in May 2024 that doesn't takeoff until August 2024? I've poked around Reddit and chatted with Delta and every time I get conflicting answers and this policy doesn't seem to be outlined anywhere.

see if it had a not-subaru engine I'd be in, but I'm really not a fan. I actually like the look overall though.

I shit on mall crawlers all the time, but I've got one hell of a soft spot for vehicles built for what I think you're referring to. Something built to haul my stuff to places with muddy/gravelly/dirt roads, especially in the winter. Ski towns and the associated mountains don't always have the best roads.
Exactly. Like, I don't need 4' of ground clearance and 48" knobby tires, I just want some AWD. Though a "Rust Country" windshield banner (in the rough country font) would absolutely happen, along with roof mounted lighting (that wouldn't actually get turned on ever because I'm not into blinding other motorists) and maybe a push bar because we live in deer country and it suuuuuuuuucks

I love those deep green offerings. Unfortunately it seems like it's a higher-dollar option, everything I look at comes in grey, white, black, silver, and sometimes red or blue but it's always those same handful of colors. I'm really thinking about getting a wrap so I can have a unique color, but that eats into the budget for the vehicle overall.

Also why did Buick have to kill off the Regal TourX :(
Same reason gm killed pontiac. Because fuck people

We did stop at a mango cart yesterday and holy shit was fresh mango out of a cup amazing here
My wife loves mango and it's a damned shame because I guess the skin has urushiol (which she's hyper sensitive to) and so she gets a rash... but can eat the flesh without issue. So we generally have to get mango pre-cut from the store, which obviously isn't the same.

Go enjoy some fresh mangos for us in spirit haha

I think the answer is clear. You need to move to Mexico.

I dream of a rally R alot. Have went so far as looking into Tiguan struts as a lift kit and priced some k02 tires. But ultimately, I'd never use it, and I like asphalt racing a little better anyways. I have my old jeep if I need to get my fix of dirt and mud.

I really considered SCCA rallycross as the final life for my Mazda in a year or two, but at a recent event another driver opened up my eyes to the intensely high potential of the car if I'd just get my shit together, and now I'm a bit more interested in putting just a little more money into it to dial it in a bit further. Rallycross would be dope with an R, but I don't know that I'd do such with one so new, as it definitely takes a toll (albeit not as much of one as stage rally/etc)

Idk I'm tempted to offer cash money to some of our RX folks to drive their cars but not have to own/fix a rally car lol

Did an all-inclusive Cancun trip for the first time this spring, the fruit was unbelievably good. I wish we could get mango like that up here.

Forget racing it, I'd want to do it just for the cool factor and the sheer utility. Although I guess an IS38'd/Vortexed Alltrack would make more sense in the real world.

i mean considering so much of our fruit comes directly from mexico, its nice to just be at the source.

we bought a BAG of like 10 perfect ripe avocados for $1 USD off some 12yo yesterday.
avocados are usually like $2 each
If you want to retire at 40 years old this might be the place. lmao

on a more somber note, my sister in law is def in hospice, having difficulties breathing. seems like her body is shutting down. could have gone last night, for all we know it will be today. its quite tough on everyone, as she is the favorite sister of all. as always, fuck cancer...

It's a very real strategy actually. Not just in Mexico either, there's a bunch of Central/South American countries that people retire to for exactly that reason.

Personally, I would prefer Portugal as a retirement destination, but not sure I can get my wife on board.

idk, its definitely a few steps down in most regards. its just nice that when we are here the cost of living is so cheap. I dont think i could manage living here/in mexico lol. i need my gringos, and architects, and engineers, and police officers, and FDSA, and OSHA....
