2.0

K20 something or other. Definitely not a typeR K20, but it is supposed to be a reliable as it gets.

lol yes I know the 2.0 I’m a Honda guy.

The civic your looking at has the 1.5T in it?

Best price on a new one after dealer fees that I’ve found was 27k.
I'd do the figures including financing. Higher used car interest rates may bring the actual costs within a couple thousand and you'd have 78,000 less miles.

I sent my son off to college in a leased Mazda 3. He drove so few miles, I sold the car at the end of the lease and made money.

Monthly payments were stupid cheap too.

I’m not buying the car. My daughter is buying it on her own. She is putting 10k down on it and has a $200 monthly cap that she wanted to stick to. I wanted her to buy a car with cash and not take on a loan…….but she wanted a newer car than 10k would buy. IIRC she got a 3.9% apr at our credit union since she had done well with the small amount of credit she has had up until now. $192 a month for a newish car is smarter than I was at 21.

No. It’s the 2.0.

I didn’t want her to get a higher mileage 1.5T after reading about head gaskets issues.

Sorry I misread thinking you didn’t get the 2.0 🫠

Yes the 2.0 is the way to go. Timing chain motors and all they need are gas and oil.

Financing it will help build her credit young. One of the best things I did.

Even if she is paying a little more then it’s worth if it’s perfect for her then worth it IMO. Plus it’s a Civic it will hold its value.

Nice - good parenting (lol who am I to say... I can't even drink)
Although buying with cash outright is ideal (in my opinion)... financing helps build credit for future financing (P O R S C H E N I N E E L E B E N)

Pics of daughter?

asking for a friend
is that friend @aspro_gti?

@Jmitchell4873 sounds like she got a reasonable price for a good car, hope it works out well for years to come. Sounds like you did a solid job teaching financial responsibility. (holy shit I sound like Hank Hill and I'm not sure how to feel about it)

She isn’t into dudes. But she isn’t one of those militant gay chicks that think every dude is full of toxic masculinity. She sent me this pic the other day…….so she has a good sense of humor.

man's double entendre is on point
In either of those cases……I just want her to feel loved whether it’s her significant other or choice in automobiles.

I wouldn’t feel loved with a CVT, or a same sex relationship………….but 20 dollars is 20 dollars.
