Lost power for a bit less than two hrs. Waited one hr then hauled out the small genny. 30 minutes to drag it out, get it running and set up to run heat or fridge. I go walk down the street to see if I can see anything, halfway down the lights come on. Victory?

You'd be out of power for days if you didn't have the generator.

We lose power often enough that I am thankful to have two. One big enough to run well and one small enough that I can afford to run it 24/7. Big one will use 10-15 gallons per day, I have had 3x where we couldn't get to the main road (we live on a dead end) for 3+ days. I keep a stock of 20-25 gallons which in normal use I will run through that in 8-10 months. Small gennie 1400/1800 watts will use < 5 gallons day. I have this Yankee Farmer system where I can easily switch between fridge/furnace/small appliance.

pffffft how bougie

I spent more than I want to admit to buy a decent DDR pad so I could play in my basement at 34 years old

ngl though noticable improvements in how I feel and fit in clothes, regardless of how dumb it feels. I'm about as good as I was ~18 years ago, working back to when I was actually decently good
Yeah. Spent my mid 20's until mid 30's with no workout. Then started having trouble breathing while sleeping. So got an elliptical in the garage and started doing 30 min every morning. I think for 5 years i didn't even miss Sunday. Dropped like 60lbs. Then 2 years ago, daughter got a free membership to PF from high school and we started coming & did weights for the first time in more than 20 years. Been coming since and feels great. Like you said, i didn't think I've been in better shape since 20.

CSB: Got the cams aligned and locked in the right spot. So happy I got that done. Now chain and guides go on, I seal the timing cover, and I put other parts back on and get ready to fill with new fluids and fire up. :)

We currently exist during a grievance movement era that has no coherent mission statement or proclaimed destination because moving the goal posts is necessary to keep it alive. It’s a shapeless entity that morphs constantly to absorb more and more grievances which keep us off balance and inundated daily with fresh “problematic” societal or cultural norms that need shunning and denouncement by all, or else. Nothing we do will satiate its appetite. Nothing we do can rectify anything to a point where the “aggrieved” will be satisfied. There’s no actual goals that can be achieved and then checked off as complete, or issue being rectified (even legitimate ones) because they don’t want to close the book, they don’t want to move forward, they want to pick at scabs, stay angry, they want to keep feeding until there’s nothing left but bones.

I was a husky boi until my 20s, when I cut out snacks and sugary drinks, and did a bunch of long distance skateboarding. Looked like this for a while:
1734234100082.jpeg

Then I got sick of being bested by 20 liter carboys at work, and I started doing dumbbells and later kettle bells at home. Now I have a 35 and a 52lb kettle. I'm not really buff, but at least my arms match my legs. I can stand for hours, and my arms don't get tired or strained doing my work.
I first knew I was getting where I wanted to be when people at work were surprised by how heavy something was to carry, because they saw me carrying it first.

I'm trying to find a good starter kettlebell workout - any tips? I've done nothing but cardio since college and love biking but I want to introduce more strength stuff to increase what I can do going downhill

@messrock can hook you up probably. Bro is ripped.
My fave kettlebell exercises: russian twists, kettlebell swings, lunges, bulgarian split squats, bring sally up/down kettlebell exercise, and single arm rows/presses.
