F reacts onlyJust 30 min ago, I rounded the face of one of the T30 bolts that fasten the lower timing cover. It's on the top row of bolts, so it's right there next to the frame rail and would be lowkey impossible to drill out and extract how it is rn. Might have to dremel it into a flathead face and then come in with a chisel/hammer to hammer it into twisting. FUCK ME.

Button head or cap head..... if cap head External ez out? if button head can you get in with flat chisel punch tp outside edge and use that to unscrewJust 30 min ago, I rounded the face of one of the T30 bolts that fasten the lower timing cover. My thoughts too, both methods could work. It's a t30 torx bolt, so you get the t30 bit on your 1/4in adapter and pray it doesn't round. I was doing all right until this freaking bolt that's in a really tight spot between the motor and the frame rail. Can't get a drill in there to ez out. Maybe with a 90deg drill attachment, but even still it's going to be tricky.Button head or cap head..... if cap head External ez out? if button head can you get in with flat chisel punch tp outside edge and use that to unscrew
Yeah - I've had great luck with getting stuff unstuck using ez-out bitsfrom what I read for room a drill is out....length of bit needs to be accounted for too.
I would buy a set of the EZ's to try first. the short head height may be an issue. My thinking for first is it would be better to try them before you bugger up the head with a chisel
Screw is already dedIf you have vertical room above it, a pair of small vice grips works wonders. This kills the screw though.
