I wouldn't be worried about rice or his wife, exactly the scenario you mentioned is the most likely. I'd be concerned if they wanted to do a baby swim day however.

Like, if you get flushed from the pool after the wall breaks you could definitely get hurt pretty bad.
You could get cut badly or smash your head as you get pulled through the wall break. Maybe you'd just end up on the lawn but you could also end up in the emergency room.

To his point, the pool with water a foot or water higher on one side is going to stress the strength of the walls and will likely greatly increase the risk of failure.
To make your example more comparable you would have to under inflate two of the tires to 10-15psi and see how long it was until there was an accident/tire failure.

Funny csb... yesterday I'm in my office working and 4 kids are riding their bikes in front of my house. They decided to get off and sit on my lawn right by the street, wanted to yell get off my lawn at them but they were sitting in the section of grass I call dog poo island. Most of the people are good about picking up after their dogs, but I see at least 4 dogs crap there every day
