agreed ek9 is best gen. though i got lots of love for the ek9, ep3 and most other gens
FD2 is the best, quickest N/A FWD around that german track everyone measures dicks with

Yes you're right lol they are well known!

I can assure you tho timing chains on a 4.2 is much easier than doing rod bearings. Also, keep in mind that you only need to upgrade the timing chains once and you are good whereas the M3 you have to do rod bearings every 60-70k miles.

They are fun too, makes all the good sounds.

More reliable than the E90/92 M3's since you don't have worry about rod bearing failure.
Rod bearings are a 30k mile maintenance in those things.
