It's not really too bucket-y. It has less bolster than the seats in the R.
Look at the Herman Miller chairs. They're usually regarded as the cream of the crop, gold standard of office chairs. Unless you already did and that's what you mean with "high end office chairs". The Aeron is usually #1 on "Best Computer Chair" lists. My old job went around and replaced all chairs with them, and I hated it due to the way I sit most of the time. I like to sit on my right leg, which is probably horrible for my posture, but whatevs. The sides of the seat the Aeron curve up, and made that impossible.
I have another buddy who spent like $1,400 on a HM Embody, and he swears by it. Haven't had a chance to sit in it yet.
