It's the lowering spring slipping from the bearing when turning the steering wheel . And then correcting iself.

Thanks for sharing that video!

I've known about the presence of strut mount/bearings (vice just "mounts") for over 20 years, but didn't truly understand what they where doing until I saw this. I appreciate the education.

I'm actually going to be tracking down a creak this weekend when I have some time. Recently had my EMD springs removed and put stock springs back on. Also swapped out the worn out shocks and struts for Koni Special Active. Replaced all TTY bolts, strut bearings, and strut mount. I've developed a creaking at low speeds when turning that sounds like it's only coming from the passenger side. I can hear it really well while driving, but when I got out of the car and had my wife turn the wheel, it's barely audible from outside. I ordered a can of the WD-40 Specialist Silicone spray and plan on just hitting whatever I can reach: LCA bushings, sway bar bushings, and strut bearings. Hopefully it's one of those things haha.

See my post above. This actually helped quite a bit in my case, but I still have something there. Is it pretty much impossible to access the strut mount and bearing with everything installed? thought about spraying those down as well.

Finally had the clockspring replaced; it has definitely improved the situation, though there are still some creaks here and there. It's good enough for now that I'm mostly fine with it.

Following up on this thread. I had lowering springs installed and creaking is just as bad/if not worse. Its definitely from the springs skipping while turning as shown in the video posted above. Anyone have experience with fixing this? I'm thinking its cause I put H&R sport springs on the stock struts, however I did go with 034 strut tops and bearings. Do you think if I switched to some aftermarket struts like Bilstein B8's this would go away?
