Cracked sunroof trim?

Somehow the black plastic trim around my sunroof cracked. I am trying to get it fixed but I am getting contradictory information as to what is actually involved in doing this.

One shop told me that the entire sunroof mechanism needs to be replaced.

One told me that just that trim piece can be replaced but they have to remove the headliner.

Another told me that they could replace the trim but they would have to remove the windshield.

One told me that you can replace the trim, but VW makes you order it with the sunroof.

Has anyone had this repaired? What is the actual correct procedure? Is there a TSB?

mine is also cracked, i believe mine is up a bit more, starting at the corner. I haven't experience any leaking issues, but it doesn't rain much over here.

Thanks. It does look like the trim can be ordered and replaced without replacing the frame. From a practical perspective does the frame often get damaged when doing this? I’m trying to understand why the dealer told me both had to be ordered/replaced.

This part in question, it’s plastic right? The dealer told me they thought it was glass? Feels like plastic to me but idk?
