I'm toying with the idea of getting a cordless DA polisher for light duty use and wanted to see if anyone here has recommendations.

I currently have a older Griot's Garage 6" DA polisher that works just fine but I really really dislike having to manage the cord when using it. I also don't have power near the driveway and running a long extension cord is a pain. So basically this is one of those want not need situations and figured tool sales this time of year could tempt me to a new cordless model.

The polisher would be used maybe 4-5 times a year on the GTI plus a few other family cars primarily for light polishes, applying wax, and occasionally compounding water spots, scuffs, etc.

I own batteries for Milwaukee and Ryobi 18v platforms both of which offer DA polishers but am open to options from other brands if the performance/price is right.

Thanks in advance!

If you already have batteries get the Milwaukee. The 15mm is better suited for cars than the 6" is, that I use just for large panels mostly on pick up trucks.

If you have an unlimited budget get the Flex, and if you are a baller get the Rupes. A new polisher will be more money because of the batteries and charger system, I think you can get the M18 15mm for around $215. I can say that in my opinion, the Flex is a better buy than the M18, having used their electric counterparts. Rupes is on another level, they are usually one step ahead of everyone (except on the forced rotation, Flex was the first one there).

Thanks for the reply, not sure how I missed it earlier.

I'm definitely leaning towards the Milwaukee as it seems like a good balance of price and performance. You're right, I'm seeing it new around $220ish on eBay. That Rupes looks like a lovely tool but it's big bucks and way overkill for me at this point.
