Had the stock 272s on my old mk7 golf with an is20 turbo and literally caught the brakes on fire, and the stock A3 brakes held up to that with no issue. These are more for actual track days (Daytona/Sebring) and being able to stay in the power on the back straight at the FIRM without worrying about them stopping me.

Better vanity photo of the brakes now with high temp decals. Deciding on 17 or 18” Apex wheels in anthracite to go over them is up next.

Yeah. had a minor heart attack when I picked them up. Luckily I had pre-purchased the caliper seal kit cause I was really expecting them to be removed before powder coating. Had them re-sealed with the red rubber grease too.

Finished the install in about 5 hours all things considered. Spent a bunch of time contemplating fitment (or lack there of) of the wheels I have. Couple of notes if any A3/S3 guys are looking at this.
1.) PP brake dust shields don’t work. Not a big deal, just trimmed the stock ones to allow for the 345 rotor.
2.) All the security codes provided worked for my car - made all recommended changes and the car feels great.

As for fitment, the A3/S3 wheels in post 270 something are a bit close without a spacer for my taste. Luckily we had a 10mm spacer laying around for the front. I’m going to order a 3-5mm spacer and it should be fine. I’d guess 1-1.5mm of clearance with no spacer.
VW Anthracite Goal wheels (17x7) fit with the same 10mm spacer.
Now for a few night pics before I go and get some glamor shots in the future.

Big thanks to everyone in this thread for the wealth of info. I installed mine this past weekend with 345mm rotors, RBF600 fluid, and Powerstop Z23 for street pads. I must say these calipers bite hard when you really step on them. I think I still have a tiny bit of air in the lines, I will bleed the brakes again later. With that said, I didn’t think the dead travel would bother me but it does now, lol. So for all of you guys who applied RRG, did you have to take out the dust boots and pistons to apply it? I’d rather not if I can get away with it, as I don’t have much brake fluid left for a full flush, lol.

I applied the RRG with the pistons fully taken out.

What you can do is firm up the brake while the car is off and then put a block of wood against the brake pedal and keep it snug with your driver's seat. That way when you disconnect the SS brake line from the hard line, you won't lose any brake fluid from the master cylinder as it creates a suction like holding the top of a straw. Then you can easily dump what's left in the caliper as you work on it and pull the pistons out. Makes the whole job much cleaner without much fluid loss.

There's like a 80% chance if you ordered it from Amazon when you posted this it would be delivered by 6PM today.

Exactly. Just get the RRG. It is the right lube for this project.
