Here ya go. I think they add character to show how fast sporty they really are. Esp if it's gonna be used as a "company car".

1. you do realize this is not a turbo "KIT". do you?
this is barely a GTX2867R turbo upgrade for "existing" stage 3 customers with the old GT2871R version.

2. Americans take the cheap tuning prices for granted without ever thinking it costs a heck more for ROW to get similar stuff.
in europe APR mk6 TBE for example is 2000 euros excluding tax
http://www.goapr.eu/products/apr_exhaust_mk6_20tsi.html
now I don't want to think how much a turbo kit costs there lol.
in my country I have to pay a shy of $2500 to get APR TBE, that's without fitting :) if we were in US we would make at least double the power out of our cars spending the same money ;)

but I feel you on that, 2000+ euros is a lot for a fancy color name! that's almost an exhaust money lol :p

you do realize that is a kit, and has a turbo in it, which makes it a turbo kit. ;) lolololol

Im also not american.. I also live in europe and know how much things cost vs the American $, but you also need to realize you are paying for duty and tax on most of the things, not Americas fault. I'm trying to make a point, take it with a pinch of salt if you will..

There was an e92 M3 with matte paint in UK about 2 years ago. It's cost was basically a new vw polo, and it needed professional maintenance every 6 months. But ppl still bought it, because they can, and I laugh at them, same color could have been achived with a wrap for under 1500$... anyways. I'm repeating what I already said.. and ppl seem to agree it's stupidly priced.

I do like some of the colors, "different" for sure.

I threw up a little.. who would want this color?? A girl maybe?

Glad to see someone bring up the fact you guys get screwed for buying anything you didn't make there.
I remember talking to a guy with the orange Lime Rock edition M3. He was like "yeah the guy told me I could have got another color but if a bird shits on it the thing gets ruined, so I went with the orange. "

Perhaps a dedicated fan of Michael Jordan's basketball career would go for that baby blue.

there's no tax in my country, no tax in my whole region actually :D but still we get charged more by dealers I would guess it's because of the small market for these cars here. not America's fault! more like DHL/Fedex's lol

funny our VW dealer brought only one mk5 with that color, and it's bought by a girl LOL

I'm curious, if Lapiz blue was called baby blue, would you guys still buy it?

The forum will have baby blue mk7 R thread titles, and you have to say baby blue when people ask the color, not just blue.

and your sig would say baby blue, not lapiz blue.

would you still get it?

:D:D

The 7R is as fast as a new Cayman S. They can be quiet!

I've had a ride in the 981 Cayman S with PDK. as much as I love Golfs to death but sorry even if it's as fast as the Cayman (which no way it is :)) a Golf cannot possibly be better than a cayman S, not with the current 2.0t that is. the symphony, the response, how the car is well-balanced and the whole experience you get from the 3.4L in the Cayman is just supercar-class!

I personally think it is the most underrated car in the industry, you have to experience the thrill to understand ;)

paper comparison
0-60
Golf R in 4.9sec
Cayman S with sport chrono package in 4.6sec

real world comparison
Porsche > VW period

Oh I was just making a relative comparison to how far it has come. Would take that in a heartbeat. But R over base Cayman S 6 speed with just a few stereo options? Yes. And the Mk6 wouldn't touch it. So a cool colors would be nice. It doesn't have to cost $1500+ more for it. Look what the Passat gets. That brown color that's like €1500, it's $500 here.

Is that 0-62 in the cayman as if 0-60 then the golf with dsg is 4.7secs.
