Colour choice in Germany

In Germany they can reserve many other colours.

Take a look at http://www.volkswagen.de/de/CC5.html...l-konfigurator

Click on "Der Golf" then "R". Then mark all the options untill you get to the colours. After the normal colours you find the extra colours beneath "Reserviert für Lackierungen".
When you mark the option "Sonder-Lackierung" you will be able to see the illustrated car in the colour of your choice.:rolleyes:

Enjoy!

PS: Still no option for Carbon Grey (=GTI colour) :(

Vancity2Constantinople maybe to you it sounds retarded, but perhaps some people would pay the extra money to get a colour they want. If Germans wouldn't be interested in such a variety of colours and wouldn't be willing to pay the extra I think VW would reduce the colour options to the most wanted ones as in the UK and maybe other countries?!

My big question is: how common are these colors in Germany? I've looked long and hard for a real pic of a racing grun or purple golf but nothing comes up. Seems most ppl just go with a wrap. Odd thing is, a few of the expensive colors are available in US, like black oak brown.

well, not common at all. Only someone high would pay that much for a different shade of blue or red. And yes, people just wrap the car for half the price, and much more unique colors.

VW had a mint green mk6 GTD as a demo in the US and it looked really good. But yeah, for that price? Maybe if it was being bought to be rarely driven since and destined as a future collectible. Rare color choices can add value.

It isn't unheard of for a manufacturer to offer expensive more unique colour choices. Yes it still on a golf no matter how special the golf is, but if it's a colour you really like that stands out from the crowd then why not. I'd rather pay 500 pounds more than oryx White to have something special like they can have .

1. you do realize this is not a turbo "KIT". do you?
this is barely a GTX2867R turbo upgrade for "existing" stage 3 customers with the old GT2871R version.

2. Americans take the cheap tuning prices for granted without ever thinking it costs a heck more for ROW to get similar stuff.
in europe APR mk6 TBE for example is 2000 euros excluding tax
http://www.goapr.eu/products/apr_exhaust_mk6_20tsi.html
now I don't want to think how much a turbo kit costs there lol.
in my country I have to pay a shy of $2500 to get APR TBE, that's without fitting :) if we were in US we would make at least double the power out of our cars spending the same money ;)

but I feel you on that, 2000+ euros is a lot for a fancy color name! that's almost an exhaust money lol :p
