I'm central Jersey and received the letter today.Just literally got a letter in the mail today about the water pump failures, wondering if anyone get one as well? I'm based in NJ.
Reading through it quickly, looks like VW is finally reimbursing owners for the replacement out of pocket.
I think mine may be on the way out again. I hope this covers everyone.I'm central Jersey and received the letter today.
If I'm interpreting the letter correctly, VW has extended the water pump warranty to 8 years or 80,000 miles but there's a sliding scale.
It looks as though if the water pump failed on my vehicle (7 years old and 62,000 miles) I'd only be covered for 10%.
I hope I'm reading that wrong.
As long as you’re covered under the warranty(which you still are from what you’re saying) they should have the ability to reimburse you 100%I'm central Jersey and received the letter today.

Re-reading the letter this morning, it looks like full coverage for the pump is 8 years or 80,000 miles. As long as you’re covered under the warranty(which you still are from what you’re saying) they should have the ability to reimburse you 100%
Or should I not use the dealer out of TD1 concerns? The class action letter does mention "damages resulting from ... alteration or modification ... shall be excluded" which makes me want to use an indy shop instead given my tune. On the other hand, would the dealer even need to hook the car up to ODIS in the first place if I'm just paying out of pocket (not trying to have warranty payment approved before work begins) and then submitting a claim later? Hm...... since the letter does say non-dealership work is eligible for a claim, maybe I just play it safe and try that.bring donuts (quality ones) to the dealer. They'll do it for you
Noted. It looks like there are actually 2 completely separate ways to go about this:I would NOT bring a tuned car to the dealer
95k out of a water pump seems like a reasonable service life to me. You did a lot better than many!Damn, just had mine fail at 95k. No Refund for me I guess.
does this specify between factory warranty and third party?Work done prior to June 10, 2022: it will be a reimbursement for non-warranty work.
I don't understand the question. You quoted the part of my comment that deals with reimbursement for people who paid out of pocket, which has nothing to do with a warranty (factory warranty or third-party warranty).does this specify between factory warranty and third party?
