I'm particularly worried about folks like Pieter from Belgium and some of out UK buddies that have been hard hit by COVID-19. Belgium in particular has been having a bad time. And, of course, many areas in the US have been whacked as well.

COVID has been sucking up all my time and I hope everyone is OK.

Germany here. Everything is seemingly back to “normal” minus social distancing. I’m getting ready to move back to the states (Florida) here soon. I can’t say I’ll miss Europe lol.

Hard hit??..Not where I am..in the far remote north.....only way this has affected me is not being able to go out on the hills as mountain rescue are volunteers & ask you not to..& that the local swimming pool is closed.

Shopping has been a bit of a pain....even 11 weeks on & some of the big food stores are still out of basics...but the smaller ones have it in stock, so buying there.....other than that its not affected me much..maybe just the way I live my life??

Belgium leads the world with fatalities per 1 million population at 795. The UK is 4th with 539 (Spain and Italy in between). The only real comparison at this point is the fatalities and you need to exclude countries with fewer than 100 fatalities (like Andorra).

It is pretty rough here in Sweden now leading the daily deaths per capita but I live in one of the least affected areas on the country side.
My mom is a 3 time Cancer survivor that was hit really hard last time and I have a some risk factors so we stay isolated so I can visit and help her out.

Going out on small roadtrips and nature walks is something that helps to get by.

Yes, the Swedish experiment seems to have backfired. I spoke with Swedish authorities a few days ago and they said that they had not expected such a high fatality rate. Please stay safe.

What is the high death rate attributed to?

To keep on topic, I believe it is because the Swedes didn't buy enough Mk7 GTI's - and the ones they bought weren't sufficiently modded.

The Swedish government decided not to lock down the country and merely recommended social distancing. The problem is that you can't seclude the vulnerable population unless you also segregate the healthy population caring for them.

Belgium numbers are higher because we count more dead where other country don't take them up in there numbers. Or that is at least what they tell us in news every day, that is is hard to compair the country because if the different way of counting in some cases.
They say that in other country the xount can go up after they 'correct' this en alter the numbers after the pandemic.
We count fore example every covid infected dead as covid dead even if it was sent the real cod. And the suspected covid dead at also counted there where in other country only the confirmed covid dead at counted.

Not vetting and isolate travelers from hotspots or test and trace enough when the spread started, not having supplies to protect the old people in retirement homes and care units.

Greece is allowing travelers in..arrive at airport, get tested, escorted to Gov seconded hotel & wait 24hrs for test results. If all clear allowed out to visit the country...

How is our stupid country doing this??….allowing people in …& asking them to self isolate for 14days when they get to their destination in UK...which could involve travelling on public transport etc..

Muppets!!!
