Yea I would not leave it like that. We are just seeing where we can get the boost curve. Imagine this as a dyno tuning session which is happening reeeealy slow. The turbo it totally capable of running +9 at 6000, so nothing will get hurt there even if we got all the boost. The timing value also isn't too high for how little boost its producing.
I won't ever do that. The motor's got great correction built in but not how I'd like to get it caught out. Running lean (it likely would with that boost at that RPM without adding FOL) with way too much boost at the top of the RPM range.

If I recall correctly, you have a DSG and max RPM will be 6k unless you force more which doesn't make you faster. This is safer, keeps it spooling fine and is within normal motor operating compensation parameters. I personally think that's a great looking curve with a strong and even pull. It can look a little stronger in the mids so you could try the small bump there to see how much pull you get.
Basically this that I'll also try when I get a chance.
1500 1
2000 3
2500 4
3000 4
3500 4
4000 4.5
4500 4.5
5000 4.5
5500 5
6000 4
6500 3
7000 2
Probably right with what the overall advance looks like in 4th but won't hurt anything with another .5 in the mids to see what happens. Just needs to tailor the top and bottom. A DSG is doing about 80 before shifting to 4th. Higher in sport so not a huge concern for a daily driver.
Thanks guys, I will try the additive and absolute settings tonight if I have time.
In comparison to Map 2, our Map 6 numbers are slightly lower. Is this because FOL is 60 on Map 6 or is Map 2 more powerful? Here is the log and numbers of Map 2 from winter. Should I get a new log of Map 2 in warm weather?

Funny how my absolute numbers basically came back to Map 2 values below 5000 RPM. You're in the ballpark. There is no magic. You just ask more of the car until the car says no.

Universal map 2 is fine but it's even better to fine tune. Interesting that you weren't getting any timing correction on map 2 in winter. Cold air.
I'm assuming it's a used JB4. I don't think default FOL on map 6 is 60. Thought it was something like 45. Try 50. ECU might be thinking somethings wrong at 60 and messing things up a bit though I don't see it in the logs. I believe a value like 60 is for when you add a couple/few gallons of E85 etc.

I got correction using the identical settings from Map 2 on Map 6 in similar winter temperature. Maybe I’m missing something but that’s why I asked if I should just run Map 2.
Yes, it’s used. That’s why I couldn’t ask George for advice.
I can’t test tonight. Maybe tomorrow, if it’s not too rainy. I will log Map 2 again so we can compare results with the additive and absolute Map 6 settings. Pray I don’t get pulled over.
That’s why I wondered if Map 2 is better than Map 6 on my car for whatever reason.

If you do, show the cop your logs and tell him what you're doing and waiting for empty space to do so etc. Cops are people too and sometimes enjoy getting engaged. Stop at the top of 3rd. We really don't 'need' 4th on the DSG.
I plugged in the last add map I recommended you try. I don't have time to run a log but will in the next week or so after I get a fresh tank of gas. The difference in cylinder timing you're getting between map 2 and 6 is likely coincidence/conditions. Last summer, I had runs with 17psi that looked great but can't run that right now. I didn't even adjust FOL here. ( I should have had it at 50 or so). Had other summer runs with 16 max and got worse results. https://datazap.me/u/goodvibes/11-13-15-16-17-17-17-17-16-15-14-13?log=0&data=1-2-3-4-11-25-26-27
If you do absolute, this is a nice curve for the 1.8 but start lower.
On the.street, I use map 2 most.of the year and.3 in the winter.
Someone recommended to me the Burger pedal tuner. Bought one used and installed today. It's a.great addition with the JB4 for the street..Doesn't add horsepower but the.throttle.response is much more sensitive, car feels much faster.
It really does help. Just need to be very conservative with the setting and it's seamless. Really helps the enjoyment factor and the lowest setting is as easy/easier to modulate as stock.
