Hey guys, long time lurker here. Had a minor accident and the insurance seems to think that I don't need a new bumper . Is this damage fixable? Car is brand new, well less than 5k now. Cheers
In the wheel well, there should be a fog light access. See if you can pop out the bumper then buff out the scratch. You might have to take the bumper out.
It looks like you need a new headlight for sure, maybe a new fog light (can't tell if its just a bad angle in photo, or if its damaged).
As for the bumper itself, depending on how bad the scuffs are (if its just transfer or actual damage) maybe need a re-spray, it otherwise looks to be easily repairable.
That sucks though, always hurts to see anything damaged, even if its minor.
As q74 mentioned above, can't really tell from the pictures but if there are no cracks chances are they can heat and push the bumper to its original shape, but the paint depends whether that's paint transfer or cracked/chipped paint.
The insurance rule of thumb is if bumper cover has no puncture, then they will repair. They will only authorize replacement if punctured. FYI those are easily fixable, just needs repainting. As others have said, you will get new headlights.
Did the adjuster look at it at the shop it will be repaired at?
Don’t go to the shop insurance recommends, they are in the business of saving the insurance company money. So long as the shop that’s going to do the work is not recommended by insurance, they will likely open a supplemental claim on top of the initial assessment and get them to replace the bumper.
that bumper needs to be replaced. It's warped and all fucked up. Even if you can pop it back out, it's gonna look like bacon. What do they want to do? Bondo and sand?
