Brake pad not making full contact with disc?

Is this anything to worry about:

There are 2 thin strips of rust on the disc (rear off side) where the pad isn't making contact with the disc. The strips are about 2mm wide so not a big % of the disc. Should I be bothered?!

My guess is it is just a 'valley' in the pad, probably a manufacturing defect. You'll eventually wear the pad even and the lines will go away. If it doesn't feel like a warped rotor and it doesn't pull to one side, should be okay. But hopefully someone else can chime in with a definitive answer.
