Received the TCR muffler today and already fitted by a local exhaust shop, very quick first impressions.

- Normal driving in traffic, no difference is tone, noise levels which is what I wanted.
- Giving the accelerator a squirt, much better sounding, louder than the Soundkator which is pleasing. It's no way over the top and did have a slight burp on upshift on the DSG, didn't have that before or perhaps couldn't hear it with the stock muffler. Didn't notice anything on downshift, but the drive was limited.

There was the piping size difference between the muffler and the existing system which was expected, exhaust shop had it all done within 30 mins. Will get under the car and take a look later on how they connected it all up.

Happy with the result after 10 mins driving, reckon the sound will develop further with some carbon build up.

If it's anything like the CSS muffler it will get louder over time.

I installed back my resonator out of curiosity, will leave it for a week but initial impressions are the exhaust is very muted. It reminds my of just having the resonator delete and oem exhaust. Dsg burps are much quieter and inconsistent as before TCR with resonator delete they were loud and all the time. So far I prefer the Reso delete and TCR but I’m willing to give it a week. Only 20 minutes to swap in and out the resonator so no big deal. Just a TCR suitcase or just a Reso delete are not far off in sound from each other but that’s just my opinion

So the TCR exhaust with stock resonator is like a res- delete, well, it has to be pretty good then.
Could you post some videos with the resonator?

Hoping to get one soonish.

Someone is feeling sassy.

Could just ask the people that have installed it too :).

He's trying to say that it appears some 2019 cars have measured 60mm and some 65mm. It's not really known yet if it's a running production change or just Rabbit trim with 60mm, so it's best to measure.

I dont own a tool to measure the OD of the exhaust piping and I am sure a lot of other people dont either. Either way exhaust shops can make it fit so it shouldnt be much of a concern.

You don't own a tape measure? Simply measure the circumference of the piping and then divide that number by PI (3.142) this will give you the diameter.

No specialist tools required ;)

But that takes brains... lol. "I" do have a tape measure - I'd have to steal it from the wife.

True, they can, but if you still want to measure, use a piece of string around it and measure the string.

You dont need one.

You just need a string, ruler and a calculator...

Hoping to get one soonish.

He would get a DEFINITIVE answer if he measured his own exhaust as it looks like 19 came with both sizes.

:cautious:

Not trying to be sassy, but the internet is FULL of people who want to be hand held.

Did a quick startup video after a wash.

Really enjoying the new sound from the exhaust, so much better that stock! Cruising around you wouldn't know it was different, but when you give it some acceleration there it is.. Especially WOT

Thoroughly impressed with the investment with the stock look.

Be interested to see someone with the res delete and TCR muffler post some videos, will attempt to do some driveby footage in the coming days.

I should add besides the TCR muffler my GTI is stock, no other mods.... as yet ;)
