Started doing some research cause a buddy at work just got a bored out TB for his challenger.

Apparently, we have one available:

I know it says it's for a mk5 and mk6, but I believe that this also fits the mk7.

Our factory throttle body (TB)...

Some discussion on audizine:

Now... apparently for the mk6, the 3.2 L TB also fits and is a 75 mm. Part number is 06e 133 062 c.

With the Grams, it seems like the reviews say there is more throttle response. I don't think there would be any issues on stock tune especially if the mk6 didn't throw codes or anything with the Grams TB.

May be worthwhile. Get rid of as much restriction/pressure drop as possible on the intake side.

i'd be in to see if its worthwhile on the mk7...doesn't seem like it does a huge amount but id be in for more info or someone be a guinea pig

If it helps with throttle response and stuff... this may be one of those things where you do it after you've done everything else kind of thing. Like yeah a tune is way better cost efficient wise... but if you already did the big items...

wonder what the effects are.

According to this... there is a drastic improvement. 034 has done some testing apparently with the mk6. And you get a full aluminum construction.

Still in the process of researching this.

I would not try one until there is a specific iteration for the mk7. If there never is, that kinda tells you your answer

I had larger throttle bodies for my NA cars and it made a difference, but not sure how big of a difference it will make on our platform

I've ran a bored out TB on my mk4 2.0Y jetta and there was a noticeable difference. Not mind blowing though

I forgot all about stuff like this. There was all kinds of "port matching" going on for the NA VW engines. Guys were sanding and taking the Dremel to the insides of their throttle bodies and intake manifolds.

Yeah, only reason it crossed my mind as i came across some volvo stuff for our old volvo where they too swap throttle bodies (and intake manifolds even) with other NA vehicles where they were able to document an additional 10-15 hp. I'd be curious to do it eventually, but it's not a high priority thing either. Figured i would share the info to push the platform. :)
