I already have the 034 lower dogbone insert
You could try adding the upper one from 034. That should tighten it up some more. Or pull it out and go with the Powerflex hybrid as was suggested. That replaces the bottom puck entirely and fills the voids in the upper one. It's an inexpensive and popular mod that works, albeit at the expense of some NVH like most dogbone products.

As for swapping the pendulum itself, it would probably help, but I have no real insights to share. A spherical bearing like in most of the popular aftermarket pendulums would provide better articulation and zero slop at the joint, at least in theory. Alternatively, Powerflex also makes a poly bushing to replace the rubber one in the stock pendulum. I think you can press it out. It would be in keeping with the budget theme but I can't say I've ever seen a review.

I was mistakenly thinking the Powerflex unit was more or less like for like with what I have, I think I looked at the insert first rather than the hybrid lol. Hybrid definitely seems like it might be the play, NVH seems pretty livable according to those with manual transmissions so I think I'll be fine there.

UPDATE: Powerflex Hybrid puck has been ordered

Yeah I think that's the ticket paired with a BFI engine mount- I really need to branch out from just browsing ECS bc they didn't have the Powerflex hybrid or this 🙃
The BFI mounts (I also did BFI insert and roceuro arm) after DTR made a big difference in power delivery

Powerflex hybrid showed up, went to toss it in last night and made a incredibly stupid but rather large mistake. Was talking on the phone as I pulled onto the ramps and well I didn't stop🤬 creased the driver's side rocker and nuked the passenger side....I'm not sure I have ever been so mad at myself before

Passenger side- honestly not terrible

The driver's side after applying the Clarksonian method (hammer) because it was so bad initially I had to see what I could do. No before pics unfortunately

It could have been far worse, but it also could've been avoided, nothing like being the author of your own pain haha

I think I'm just going to cover the damage up with a pair of side skirts, but the questions is which ones. Found a seller on Aliexpress offering Golf 7R reps that, based on some videos I've seen appear to fit well. Only con is I'd need to paint them, and since you can't do skirts without a splitter I'd need to get one (likely a TCR rep) and paint that too.

Other option is TCR rep skirts also from aliexpress, only con is that they are two pieces so fitment potentially questionable but they don't require paint. Paired with a TCR splitter I'd be a rear diffuser away from the whole look. Let me know what you guys think I should do on that end

Nevertheless I did get the Powerflex puck installed this afternoon. Old bushing comes out easily after some love from the sawzall to create a notch. Here it is compared to the powerflex unit

Pressed it back in using a floor jack and rubber puck

Bosh

Haven't gotten to really push the car with it yet, but initial observations from my test drive- NVH is not bad, slight vibration through pedal at idle, but not bothersome and I doubt a passenger would be aware. Shifts feel so much smoother now even driving normally. I wasn't able to do any serious gear changes but the improvement under slightly spirited acceleration indicates that I'll be quite pleased.

Sorry that happened man. Have you looked at the suction cup or glue stick methods used by PDR specialists?

It just occurred to me, that a while back I was messing around with burble tunes that didn't work (my fault for starting with 0003 BIN) and I don't think I ever flashed back. The car might be dumping unburnt fuel into the exhaust in a failed attempt to burble causing the CEL.

Reflashing to the non-burble version of my tune, and will report back if I notice anything.

So I've got a few miles under my belt having switched from my inop burble tune I forgot I flashed. Startup burbles are far less frequent and spicy and I haven't seen any startup smoke. I want to log some more miles before I consider it problem solved (to see if the CEL returns) but I'm pretty sure this was my problem.

If only I had thought to do this before ordering a BMS catch can lol. Catch can arrives today so I'll drive the car this week to rack up a few more miles and if all is good just return the cc next week. Since my PCV doesn't appear to be problematic there's no point in adding more complexity with the cc.

Also have pretty much decided that my solution to my ramp mishap will be Golf R side skirts, and I'll color match a TCR splitter to tie it all together

I literally bought a larger suitcase so I could bring them home with me haha For someone who geeks over rare OEM accessories they were too cool not to scoop!

I'm sure there has to be a set for sale somewhere, I'd check german ebay too
