I was curious if you could help me think this through. I was driving my golf tonight and it was under 39f. I realized my boost guage was reading low while I was driving so I did a few pulls and couldnt exceed 14 or 15 psi max on the guage. I was normally getting 18 to 21psi previously when I would look.

I never tried measuring boost pressures in cold weather. If you have VCDS measure requested and actual and see what you get. Seems my last 2 GTI's were developing more power in cold weather with the same boost pressues because of the colder, denser air but I never looked that closely. I would think you would have less requested if the ECU is smart enough to take ambient and intake Temps into acvount. We don't have mass airflow sensors anymore.

Our ecu targets torque. It takes less boost in cold weather to hit it’s requested torque value and more boost when it’s hotter outside
