Had a weird issue today during a log. I had just shifted into 4th when if felt like the throttle closed. Looking at the log the target boost went to 0 even though I had my foot to the floor. Any suggestions @Diggs24 ?
https://datazap.me/u/dthissen/mk75-golf-r-jb4-0?log=0&data=1-4

Edit: looks like a hit a boost cut but I don't really want to keep increasing boost safety if that's not the cause.

Penny for anyones thoughts? 93 octane here in Florida from good ole Wawa...

Map 1, mostly drama free:

https://datazap.me/u/gimpster/jb4-map1-run2?log=0&data=1-4-11-14-25-26-27-28

Thought I'd try Map 4 (DSG car) off-the-shelf:

https://datazap.me/u/gimpster/jb4-map4-run2?log=0&data=1-4-11-14-25-26-27-28

Not digging the lower RPM's there it seems. At this point I was going to copy-pasta the 4 -> 6 and play with it some, but curious where some of you might go with that. You can definitely feel the car pulling harder in the upper RPM band all the sudden when the timing comes back.

I'll talk to myself, why not.... raised FOP to 50 from 40 & pulled in the boost ~.5-1psi (depended on the cell) from 4500-5500 and things improved quite a bit. Atmospheric conditions were actually worse than when I took that last set of logs too. I had decent ignition advance through the run. I'll see if I can't sneak in a little more boost on a couple of the cells, but honestly the car pulls "hard enough". Guessing my fuel is crap, I'll try Sonoco next time.

Your IATs are pretty high, if you want useable power in the hot weather get an IC.

I would also add some E85 if you have access, start with adding 2 gallons.

Thanks for the reply.

I'll look around and see if anyone sells E85 in my area, the couple stations that were on the finder no longer had it. Being on the ocean, I'm more likely to find NON-ethanol fuels for all the boaters :)

Will also ponder an IC upgrade. I live in Central Florida, its just very hot here 8-9 months out of the year and the AC is pretty much always on. I will have to dig up logs from my old Cobalt SS to see what IAT's were like on it with the stock FMIC, but I was running full E85 on that car and getting away with a lot.

MAP-6:
I studied some and changed things. Switched to additive , and took down the boost at 5-5500rpm in an attempt to bring my timing back up--it was dropping lower in that rev-range than comparable 'good' maps. Here's the latest violation of the Seattle speed limit and a 3-4th gear WOT. Looks better than before but still room for improvement I think -- around 5-5500rpm?

Hi Guys,

As I drive a cupra ST 4drive 2019, maybe it's more relevant to post here regarding the creation of a good map6.
I have panel air filter + OPF back Remus as only mods.

From other answers I got, my fuel sucks (I"ll try different this week). I tried a MAP6 based on MAP2 boost targets : Currently running :

1500 2.0
2000 2.0
2500 2.6
3000 4.0
3500 4.0
4000 4.0
4500 4.5
5000 5.0
5500 5.0
6000 5.3
6500 5.4
7000 5.0

Fuel bias at 100
Boost failsafe at 25
FOL at 45

Here are the logs (outside temp was very low near 1°c) :
Any idea regarding the FOL value (push to 50?)
My idea is to lower boost at the top as a MAP 4 is doing of the shelf while keeping max boost target between 5 and 5.3psi.

Hoping this can help to fine tune my map 6 knowing my objectives are :
  • keeping it safe and reliable on the long term for my car hardware
  • smooth delivery from low down up to mid range
  • being able to use launch control with my 4drive DSG Cupra

Thanks in advance

Pierre

George has me running fuel bias at 45 on my 19 R (was 100 on my 16 R) due to some ecu changes, not sure that applies to the cupra but just something that stood out to me.

Hello,

Thanks for the feedback. Are the fuel Bias manually entered values only applied when running MAP 6 or on every other standard map also ?

I did another map4 log with fuel open loop to 50 and another 98ron gas.

Here are the results : https://datazap.me/u/chewbaccabe/log-1607002204?log=0&data=1-4-18-25-26-27-28

For what i see (but I'm a newbie), it looks cleaner. But i don't understand that part :

Simultaneously with the drop in boost at high RPM i got
  • timing adaptation on cyl 1
  • afr increase

Hey guys maybe you would be able to help me out. I have jb4 installed with the bluetooth module. Well i upgraded phones and sold my last one and never disconnected from bluetooth figuring it would wipe it out. Well i can't seem to get the new phone to find the device at all. I have pulled it out of engine bay right next to phone and tried plugging and unplugging from obd2 port yet still nothing. Any suggestions on how to get it to pair?

I switched phones no issues. Could try deleting and reinstalling the app?
