Hi all, hoping I can get some help here because I can't seem to find a solution elsewhere.
I've got a 2015 Golf TDI S with the basic single zone climate control. I've got a single blend door actuator under the dash on the driver's side. When I bought the car a few weeks back the motor for the actuator was making a clicking sound. I checked it out and sure enough the housing hat split open and the internal gears were clicking.
I went ahead and bought a replacement, but when it came in the mail it didn't include the little cog that connects the actuator motor to the actual blend door. I went ahead and swapped the old one into the new unit, but its just pressure fit. There aren't any little tabs or anything holding it in place (as far as I can tell)
The frustrating thing is, the little cog keeps popping off of the actuator motor, preventing me from changing from hot or cold air. I've tried installing it with the gear in place, as well as installing the motor and then pushing the gear on after. I'm afraid to try to glue it or anything because I'm worried about getting glue in the actuator motor and causing a problem. Does anyone have any ideas? It's a huge pain in the ass to replace and I'm getting sick of doing it haha
Thanks!
