Thanks for the reply!

it is under-damped ? bouncy over potholes/bumps or just stiffy in terms of not as comfortable ?
It wasn't bouncy at all, just stiffer where I could feel more of the imperfections of the road. As Clem mentioned, 10-15% stiffer sounds about right.

When I had OEM shocks the total drop with DG springs was 1 inch. Now with the B8's installed it raised the ride height by roughly a 1/4 inch. I'll take a pic for you later on.

I went for DG based on the good reviews on here. I was also able to get them from the VW dealer near me for a decent price so I went for it. Here is a picture of the car as it sits now. After looking at it for a bit it appears the B8's only raised the car by maybe 1/8th of an inch

how were the DG on stock struts?
They were great, rode almost like it did with the stock springs.

  • Thank you Clem! for your picture as well!
  • from what i know DG spring - 0.75" (front?) vs 1.2-1.3" lower for eibach-H&R springs
  • amazing TTS brake kit >.<! <3

They were great, rode almost like it did with the stock springs.
Did you notice any performance difference with just DG springs on stock system?

what is the finger gap on your front and rear?
I was supposed to get my dg's and bilsteins installed yesterday but the shop wasnt going to have it done in time b4 i go out of town, so i scheduled an appointment for vw to do the install.

Now im on the fence about if i should install the bilsteins or not... I like a comfortable ride and it sounds like...
-stock shocks are more comfortable and lower the car more than b8's
-if i return the bilsteins I save $700
-also i guess my stock shocks would still be under warranty if i dont replace them

im weighing out the pros and cons of stock vs B8's
what are your pros and cons of b8's vs stock shocks?

B8 Pros:
*More composure at all speeds
*Car corners more flat
*Yellow shocks and struts look cool 😎
*Will last longer than OEM shocks (Allegedly)

B8 Cons:
*Ride is stiffer (But not by a significant amount IMO)
*Costs $700

Stock Shocks Pros:
*Free!
*Ride height with DG springs is about 1/8th of an inch lower
*Ride is more comfortable than B8 (But not by a significant amount IMO)

Stock Shocks Cons:
*Feels more nervous during high speed+cornering
*Doesn't look as cool (as the B8's)

My suggestion, since you already have the B8's in your possession, is to fully send it 👊. I think you'll be quite happy with the end result.

Definitely install the B8's if you have them.

I'm on B8's and H&R Sports. Car is about 1.25" lower. The ride does stiffen a little but it's really not bad. You "float" less at high speeds and don't bounce around as much on really bad roads. Combined with the rest of my setup the car really feels composed and stays very flat through corners. It's night and day.

Plus the B8s have a lifetime warranty.

Thanks y’all. The rear of my car, with stock everything has a 3 finger gap. Front has 3 1/2 finger gap. So I definitely need TT pads
I’m afraid the rear won’t drop at all with the TT pads + bisteins though
